Water Testing & Treatment
Haskell’s recommends testing your well water and provides treatment filter systems that service to remove harmful contaminants that affect your water safety. The hydrologic cycle, also known as the water cycle, shows the process in which wells receive water seen the diagram above. Depending upon the type of bedrock found when your well is drilled, it will reflect what kind of issues may be in your well water. Haskell’s Water Treatment often finds problems with iron, hardness, manganese, uranium, lead, fluoride, sulfur, sodium, coliform bacteria, E.coli, chlorides, PFAS, radon, arsenic and acidic water.
Step 1
We offer free onsite evaluations. During an evaluation, we will look at your water quality issues, listen to your issues with your water (clarity, smell, taste, or stains) and test onsite for ferric and ferrous iron, manganese, pH, and hardness. We will also check the smell and clarity of your water, look at the plumbing and space where a system may need to be installed.
If you’d like us to take a sample to a state certified laboratory for testing for other issues such as bacteria, lead, arsenic, radon, and uranium we can do this. However, lab fees are not included in free evaluation. After an onsite appointment and considering any other lab testing available to us, we will provide you with an estimate for the system recommended to resolve your issues.
Step 2
Install the appropriate system. As water treatment experts, we at Haskell’s Water Treatment install and maintain these filter systems by teaching the homeowners how to maintain the system. A major consideration when purchasing a water treatment system is ensuring it will be properly cared for after installation. Haskell’s Water Treatment believes it is important to establish a relationship with the customer and we pride ourselves on the service we provide. If at any point after we have installed a water treatment system for you, you have a question about any part of the filter, backwashing sounds, or quality of the water, do not hesitate to contact us if you have concerns.
Haskell’s Water Treatment offers an annual renewal visit where our technicians look over your system and do onsite testing, this is always a good time to ask our techs any questions you may have. For certain customers that have filters to remove arsenic, radon or bacteria systems, we may recommend testing your water through a state certified laboratory every couple of years. This ensures your system is always working properly.
Step 3
After installation, Haskell’s Water Treatment will come back to your home and offer a follow-up test to confirm the filters are working properly. This may be a test that has to be sent out to a Laboratory and this cost for the water test is covered under the installation of the treatment systems.

Well Chlorination
The first step to solve a Bacteria or E-coli problem is to “shock” your well with bleach or chlorine tablets. If attempting to chlorinate the well yourself, please carefully follow the directions here. If you would like us to chlorinate the well for you, please call our office at (207) 594-4947 to schedule an appointment.
Well Service & Pump Replacement
The Haskell team also replaces well pumps, pressure tanks and other well components to insure you receive constant pressure from your well. We can do this as a preventive step, or in an emergency situation if one of these components fails.
